N. A. Foy: How old were you when you decided to pursue a career in music and were there any particular musicians or singers that inspired you?

Naddy: I always wanted to be a singer ever since I was a young girl. I started making music at the age of 9 and bought myself a cheap flute. I taught myself to play it. Later, when I was around 10, I took piano lessons and joined the school choir. When we moved from Europe to the States, I was very lucky to have great music teachers who supported my passion for singing and gave me great roles in school musicals. I stopped playing the piano and started to annoy my sister with the ukulele which I had bought for 30 bucks. 😀 To make a long story short: after doing my Masters in Geology, I worked in Germany and in Norway. I actually didn't have any more time for my passion, namely singing. I missed doing that, and I decided to pick up old habits in my late thirties and started to look for a band. Well, I guess one is never too old for rock n roll. I started writing songs with my guitarist and here I am. Today I am coached by my friend Henning Base (Firewind, Gus G.), a wonderful metal and rock singer who pushed me to another level. When I was about 12 years old, I bought my first vinyl record with my pocket money. It had to be Queen “The greatest Hits”! I listened to Freddie’s voice over and over again. Even today, I am still deeply impressed by his talent and musicality. R.I.P. I guess that was the point of no return. I also love the strong voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Beth Heart, Tina Turner, and so many more. They were and are great performers.

N. A. Foy: That is great that you picked up your passion again in your late 30s. What made you decided to go in a heavy metal/hard rock direction with your musical gifts?

Naddy: Well, I was tired of my "old" voice (classical) and singing capabilities. I was a decent soprano singer with a good head voice. As you might know, a head voice ain't enough to be a good rock singer. So, I decided to push myself to another level and take coaching lessons to find my chest voice. After many months of training, my voice suddenly became the one I was content with. I am always eager to learn new techniques because I find it very satisfying to carry my instrument in/with me and make (funny) sounds 😜 . I am a person who loves to hit the stage and entertain people.  Besides, I love loud electrical guitars, double bass, and headbanging. I think it is awesome to freak out on stage and have a blast with my boys.

N. A. Foy: Where did you get the name Blind Man's Gun? Is there a story behind it?

Naddy: My guitarist Lars was listening to the song "In 2 Deep" by Kenny Wayne Shephard... he loved the lyrics, especially the part: “Everybody scatter There's a madman on the run Stumblin' through the wreckage Like a blind man with a gun.” Lars never forgot about those lines and thought to himself that someday he would name his band "Blind Man's Gun".

N. A. Foy: Out of the lyrics from the songs the band does, what song do you feel the most inspired by?

Naddy: I would pick “Beyond the Darkness.” It is a song about conquering your inner battle. Especially the refrain which says a lot about winning the fight against the inner beast. It can also be interpreted as a fight against war. We want peace don't we? "Here we come straight ahead beyond the darkness phoenix is rising". In the end, we win of course. 😀

N. A. Foy: So, when you are not doing music, what do you like to do for enjoyment?

Naddy: I like to spend time with my family and friends. My other passion is photography and digital composing. The cover of the latest album is a digital composing I made.

N. A. Foy: That is a really cool cover. Did you go to school for photography, or is it something you learned on your own?

Naddy: I learned it on my own, I can't draw but this is how I can express myself. The cover model is a friend of mine and I also designed her armour, digitally of course 👹 The bridge on the left is in my hometown Hamburg. I once made a snap shot through the car window.

N. A. Foy: That is awesome that you learned it on your own. If you were to ride on an elevator with someone and they asked you to describe your band, what would you say?

Naddy: We are a crazy bunch of rock n rollers who are having a blast on and off stage. Our music is dramatic and passionate. Heavy rock riffs meet our front woman’s melodic vocals with unpredictable outcomes. Come to our show, you won't regret it.

N. A. Foy: Do you plan on releasing any videos for the songs on your first album?

Naddy: Yes, we are looking for a videographer. But maybe we are going to release one with a brand new song which is in the pipeline.

N. A. Foy: Sounds good. If you could tour anywhere in the world, where would you want to go?

Naddy: I personally would love to go to the States and South America. Japan and Spain would also be interesting. But anywhere would be great as long as the people flip out and go crazy with us.  Oh and Finland, I always wanted to visit that country 😀.

N. A. Foy: How about some favorites. What is your favorite color? Number? Foods? Movie(s)? Book(s)? Animal? Favorite types of scenery? Or any other favorites you want to mention?

Naddy: Green has always been my favorite color. Number 6. Food: pasta. Books: John Grisham thrillers. Animal: giraffe. Scenery: the blue sea, beaches. And I love art, paintings, photos

N. A. Foy: Finally, what is the primary "life message" that you want to send to your fans through your writing and your example as a person? Is there anything else that you would like to add?

Naddy: Well, my life message would be: don't dwell on the past too much, unless it's happy memories. One should try to live the moment, and also not to worry too much about the future. Be yourself because anyone else is taken. Also respect and try to be there for people you are close too and who might need it. Life is way too short. Live your life to the fullest, and last but not least: live your dreams. I wish my fans LOVE, PEACE & ROCK N ROLL \m/
