Metal Ladies .

Author N. A. Foy: How old were you when you decided to pursue a career in music and were there any particular musicians or singers that inspired you?

IDVex: My first real involvement in music, especially metal music was when I was 15 years old , I bought my first guitar and tried to make a school band…I did it, but it wasn't a serious band just some juveniles make noise I think, but it was fun! My first influences in those years of youth were the Beatles, Tim Buckley, Led Zeppelin, Ronnie James Dio, and Guns ’N’ Roses.

Author N. A. Foy: Do you have any plans to work on new material in the near future?

IDVex: Now I am working on my first studio album. This will be my first “real” work, a complete album recorded in a studio. I said “real” because all my previous albums were recorded at home, contains only 3 to 5 tracks and I did the mix and mastering, the artworks and all. Isn’t easy to work alone but I did the best I can for those albums, I always do my best and I always will.

Author N. A. Foy: Do you have plans to release a video?

IDVex: I would like to, but I must find people who will help and cooperate because I don’t know many things about videos and all that optical stuff.

Author N. A. Foy: If you had only a few minutes in an elevator to describe your band, what would you say?

IDVex: Black noise of doom

Author N. A. Foy: What are some things you like to do for enjoyment when you are not doing music?

IDVex: I like strolling around the city and harbour with my dog, photography, and reading.

Author N. A. Foy: If you were stuck on an island and somehow were able to listen to music, what 3 CDs would you want with you?

IDVex: 1. Dissection – “Reinkaos,’ 2. Ulver – “Childhood’s End,” 3. Skogen – “I Döden”

Author N. A. Foy: Out of the lyrics you perform so far, is there a particular one that you like best? Is there a story behind it?

IDVex: I use to write lyrics inspired from Greek and Scandinavian mythology, psychological fears, and personal experiences about life aspects. I don’t have any favourite one… I love all my “children.” Everyone is unique, good or bad and has its own story to tell.

Author N. A. Foy: Is there a story behind the name “1/2 Southern North?

IDVex: There is and it is complicated one to explain, but a brief explanation is that I am divided between south and north…I live in the south, but my heart and mind belongs to the north.

Author N. A. Foy: Us fans always like to know things about the band members. How about some favorites. What is your favorite color? Number? Foods? Movie(s)? Book(s)? Or any other favorites you want to mention?

IDVex: My favorite color is dark blue. Number 8 and 13. I love roast meat and ale. My favourite movies are “The Crow” (1994) and Peter Sellers’ “Pink Panther”. For books I will choose the “Ocean of sound” by David Toop, and I also love animals and nature we must respect them both!

Author N. A. Foy: What is the message that you want to give your fans as an example as a band? Is there anything else you’d like to add before we finish?

IDVex: I was a listener and I always be, learn to listen to different things, open up your mind and your perception. Make your own bands, support your local bands, and try your own things . I am not sure if I am a musician with the right meaning of this word, I always have my doubts about my compositions, but I try to believe in myself. I don't find any other members for my band so I decide to do this trip alone… isn’t easy but that makes me feel stronger . Believe in your selves, don't listen to others, make your dreams happen.
